napowrimo #14

This prompt was definitely a challenge, and as I have a lot of homework to do for my creative writing class tomorrow, I don't think I'm going to try the cleave. Instead, I decided to write a haiku. I haven't written a haiku since 5th grade. I plan to attempt the cleave in the future though.

Love in the Winter

Like milk on a spoon,
you touch me gently with chills:
two hearts pour sweet salt.

  2. I think I could write a thesis on this: there is so much in it, from the individual images to how they interact and the whole feast of sensory oppositions. It seems to me to describe a long term relationship perfectly, and I am particularly enamored of 'two hearts pour sweet salt.'

  3. Very dense, not light like many haiku are. You give this a richness and charisma that is inexplicable, in the good way.
